Review on The Inn on the Pond

Situated adjacent to Nutfield's village cricket pitch, with fantastic views over Nutfield Marshes, the fine-looking Inn on the Pond has recently been re-launched after a major restoration. Food is now served indoors and outside by the pond, and the place is particularly welcome as a refuelling point for famished cyclists and walkers - the pub even has its own 'wellie wall'.

Like other members of the Cross Oak Inns group, the Inn on the Pond serves an eclectic menu that roams around for smoked haddock chowder, bang-bang chicken salad with sweet chilli and peanut dressing, seared duck breast with black pudding mash and Thai spiced fishcakes with egg noodles. Old favourites like homemade pies and bangers 'n mash also have their say, and there are homely desserts such as sticky date pudding with toffee sauce to round things off. The well-spread international wine list focuses on reliable names, with a few 'reserve' vintages for good measure.

    After Walk lunch

They catered very well for our group of 15 wlth only a couple of hours notice. The Wine list is more comprehensive and well through out compared to most Pubs

Food has become very poor value

Went to the pub restaurant on Saturday 4th June 2016 and have to say what a waste of money! We have been coming to this pub for four years! Since the takeover the burger is smaller and Gristle, cheap burger bun, Salad limp and such a small amount, chips not crispy! Under the old management the food was gorgeous with fresh salad and lovely chips! Very very poor meal '

    LET DOWN....

WE VISITED THE RESTAURANT FOR A BIRTHDAY MEAL AFTER GIVEN GOOD PRAISE BY A FAMILY MEMBER, WELL WHERE TO START.... Ambience, naff, outlook /surroundings naff, a fence one side, a brick wall another...., rustic bread, balsamic, olives starter, bread totally tasteless, 7.30pm run out of rib eye steaks, (a restaurant to run out of product so early)then the starter arrived wrong,..potato skins, then the steal was two small pieces, lack of taste & under cooked, then to top it all the manager went to the kitchen just behind just & shouted at the top of her voice at the temp chef to ' GET OUT OF HER KITCHEN ' several times, well totally disappointed; Date .. 28/07/2012.
