Review on The Green Rooms Restaurant
Situated 8 miles south of Dorking in the up-and-coming 'gastro village' of Ockley, the Inn on the Green is a multi-faceted set-up involving a fifteenth-century pub-with-rooms and a separate, family-friendly restaurant known as the Green Rooms.
You can choose to eat in the spacious conservatory, the recently refurbished dining room or the spacious enclosed garden from a menu that deals in English, European and all-round international dishes based on carefully sourced ingredients (including traceable meat from Rawlings of Cranleigh).
Begin with crayfish tartlet or char-grilled vegetable and goats' cheese salad, ahead of homemade chicken ham and leek pie, teriyaki tuna steak with noodles or a barbecued rack of ribs. Fine cheeses are alternatives to desserts such as apple and rhubarb crumble or coffee crème brûlée.
Sunday lunch is a popular all-day event, with traditional roasts topping the bill, and the wine list offers a mouthwatering selection from around the globe. Real ale buffs can also sample brews from King's of Horsham alongside other favourites.
