Review on Saffron Restaurant

Saffron Restaurant situated on the busy Wolverhampton Road in Oldbury is an established Indian Restaurant that has many accolades to its name, including Best Restaurant in the Midlands by the Good Food Guide 2010 and the first Indian restaurant in Birmingham to receive a rosette from the AA Restaurant Guide. The restaurant has a smart modern décor with polished wood floors, mahogany tables with red and black velvet chairs and dramatic modern artwork adorning the walls.

Executive Head Chef is the talented Sudha Shankar Saha who has starred in the Channel 4 food series Iron Chef. He is a keen advocate of local and seasonal ingredients, as well as sustainably sourced seafood for his menu he describes as the finer side of Indian cuisine, which has Thai, Cantonese, Chinese, Malaysian and Western influences. Signature dishes that could appear on the menu are Barbarie duck, Highland venison, pigeon and Scottish fillet. There is an extremely good value wine list to complement the food.
