Run as a family concern for over 50 years, the Alte Schanze in the Hohenhain district is now in the safe hands of the second generation. Set at the edge of the forest, it's the perfect place to retire to after an afternoon's hiking. There's lots of choice on the menu, ranging from beef, pork and chicken dishes to vegetarian food.
