Review on Patara
One of six London branches of the international Patara chain, this Oxford Circus restaurant is a striking, upmarket venue with chiselled sandstone walls, ethnic sculptures, carved palm wood columns and luxurious red seating. Clever ambient illumination comes from candles and spotlights, and service helps to create a relaxed vibe.
Like its siblings, it offers Thai food that is authentic, ambitious and innovative when it matters. Staples such as fishcakes, tom yung goong soup, red duck curry and pad Thai noodles are spot-on and the kitchen also delivers specialities like DIY Thai tacos, hot-and-sour shredded chicken and mango salad, black cod with yellow bean sauce, and slow-braised beef in aromatic coconut reduction.
There are six other branches in the capital located in Berners Street W1, Knightsbridge, Soho, South Kensington, Hampstead and Wimbledon.
