Review on Ashmolean Rooftop Restaurant
The Ashmolean Rooftop Restaurant is located on the top floor of the Ashmolean Museum so during the day when the Museum is open, access to the restaurant is via the Museum's main entrance on Beaumont St. In the evening, guests can access the restaurant, via a lift from the St Giles entrance. A light and airy venue with a large terrace affording stunning views over the spires of Oxford.
Taking inspiration from the great European culinary traditions, where dining is a convivial event, the menu offers rustic, regional and authentic dishes designed to share from a range of smaller plates such as salted cod croquettes and saffron aioli, babaganoush, or charcuterie to larger dishes like veal Milanese with lemon & caper butter or whole sea bass, gremolata with Jersey Royale potatoes. At lunch a range of lighter dishes are available such as spinach & ricotta crepe and frittata primavera. A well composed wine list provides over 80 well sourced wines from around the world to complement the regional menu at affordable prices.
In the afternoon a traditional afternoon tea from the tea trolley is served on a selection of vintage china!
