Review on El Salmon
El Salmon is at the TorreNova end of Palma Nova and has been drawing in the crowds since 1972 when it was started by the Martinez family, who still run it today. Its large dining rooms are decorated in a traditional and elegant way with seafaring touches. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and inviting, while its large terrace, almost on the beach is the perfect setting for sampling the wide variety of fresh fish, meat and rice dishes. Soups, salads and fresh pasta take their place and El Salmon is famous for its paellas.
Chef Atanasio 'Tato' Martinez junior mans the stoves and his signature dishes include chicken stroganoff, salmon with almond sauce, lobster thermidor and sole 'Walewska' with prawns. Desserts can be a bit theatrical if you opt for the rum flambé or flambé pancakes with Cointreau and ice cream.
