Review on Bouillon Julien
The Julien brasserie situated close to Les Grands Boulevards in the 10th arrondissement is part of the well-known Flo group, that have various restaurants in the capital. This is one of Paris' most beautiful brasseries with its art nouveau décor and stunning floral stained-class ceiling that is said to be the work of the Guenne Establishment. There are frosty globe lamps, mosaic tiled flooring and a zinc-topped Cuban mahogany bar by Louis Majorelle that will transport you back in time.
The kitchen turns out traditional brasserie fare as in tender young leeks with tapenade toast or terrine of chicory with walnuts and Serrano ham. Follow on with homemade goose cassoulet, Castelnaudary style or sole cooked a la plancha or meunière, with steamed potatoes, before finishing with traditional Tiramisu sprinkled with cocoa or rum baba with aged dark rum.
