Review on Silk & Spice
Silk & Spice is a stylish Thai restaurant in the heart of Paris, just of the rue Montorgeuill and has been opened since 2003. This is an elegant dining room with its dim romantic lighting, silk cushions, touches of gilt and beautiful orchids displayed on the tables. The chef expertly blends together centuries old culinary traditions with a dash of contemporary flair to create delicious tasty and inventive dishes.
To start, try Som Tam, green papaya salad with dry shrimps, cashew nuts and spicy lemon dressing or Pho Pia, fried rice paper roll stuffed with vegetables with pineapple jam and shredded coconut. Continue with Koong Hob Mapraw, jumbo prawns and shrimps simmered in red curry with shredded citronella served in an entire steamed fresh coconut or Red Makham, delicious pan fried duck, tamarind and orange coulis with croquettes and foie gras. To finsh there could be desserts of Khao Niao Mamuang, fresh mango and steamed sweet sticky rice with coconut milk or Cool Basilic, Louis Roedrere Brut Premier Champagne with basil sorbet. Service is delightful and attentive and there is a very good wine list to compliment the cuisine.
