Review on La Bastide d' Opio

La Bastide d'Opio is set in the famous district of Saint Germain des Près in the 6th arrondissement of Paris and is a delightfully cosy restaurant with beams on the ceiling, wooden tables and chairs, burnt orange walls and a very welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant is Provençal with an emphasis on healthy food and unlike other regions of France, it doesn't cook with butter but only uses olive oil in its cuisine.

Among the starters look for goats cheese and aubergine bake or ravioli gratin with pesto and parmesan, followed by mains of duck with honey sauce, aniseed and spices or fillet of red mullet served with a compote of vegetables. To round off proceedings, try rich chocolate cake with vanilla sauce or crème brulée with orange blossom and almonds.
