Review on La Rôtisserie d'en Face
La Rôtisserie d'en Face in the historic Saint Germain area of Paris was originally owned by famous French chef Jacques Cagna, an informal grill restaurant with a rustic décor featuring yellow walls, red banquettes and a relaxed ambience.
High quality ingredients are sourced with care to produce starters of home made duck foie gras, with port jelly or frog's legs sautéed with garlic and fresh herbs. The restaurant's signature dish is a crisply roasted free range chicken accompanied by buttery mashed potatoes, or from the fish menu you might choose red mullet and scorpion fish stew saffron with tomato broth and stewed fennel. To finish try one of their traditional desserts like Paris-Brest of Jacques Cagna, choux pastry with almond and nuts cream or maybe rice pudding and caramel sauce, served with rhubarb and apple compote. There is a substantial wine list and service is friendly and professional.
