Review on Nomicos
Nomicos occupies the former premises of La Table de Joël Robuchon, located in the 16th Arrondissement of Paris. The modern Michelin-starred restaurant has a unique floor to ceiling basketweave interior, with contrasting vivid orange upholstery set against tables laid with crisp white linen. Les Tablettes, takes its name from the little iPads presented to diners displaying the menu and a short film about black truffles.
Owner and chef Jean-Louis Nomicos started his career with Alain Ducasse in Juan-les-Pins when he was just eighteen, before becoming head chef of La Grande Cascade in the Bois de Boulogne and more recently running the kitchen of the well-regarded Lasserre, where he was awarded two Michelin stars.
The short Mediterranean menu changes frequently according to the availability of fresh seasonal ingredients and the inspiration of Nomicos. The signature dish of the restaurant is macaroni with black truffles and foie gras, but also on the carte you might find veal sweetbreads with lemon caviar or fillet of beef with foie gras ravioli and carrots. To finish there are tempting desserts in the shape of chestnut and mandarin velouté or green chartreuse soufflé and yoghurt sorbet.
