Review on Restaurant BON
In September 2008 the BON restaurant in the 16th arrondissement of Paris was re-launched with a new Asian inspired menu and a stunning contemporary décor designed by the famous designer Philippe Starck. Located in an art nouveau building, the restaurant is divided into four elegant dining rooms each with their own distinctive style and there is also a comfortable smoking room. The Vinothèque has large glass wine cabinets lining the walls, the Fireplace with its big picture window and the cosy Library with floor to ceiling bookshelves. The Boudoir is their private function room and there is a tranquil terrace for dining al fresco at lunchtimes.
The kitchen has created a menu full of tantalising flavours with starters of crabmeat and artichoke served with spinach and shitakes flavoured with soya and sesame or pan-fried duck liver with spinach and shitake, and teriyaki sauce. Mains follow the theme as in Black cod "c'est BON", cod marinated in a soy sauce, sweetened in sake vinegar and caramelized or grilled chicken, lemongrass and hot pepper. To finish expect for example, the likes of rose panna cotta with lychee sauce and fresh strawberries or rum Baba, coconut and pineapple. Restaurant BON offers an impressive dining experience in a unique venue.
