Review on Les Truffes Folies
Les Truffes Folie is in the prestigious 7th district of Paris, close to the Esplanade of Les Invalides and specialises as the name suggests, in the black truffle. It opened in 2008 and has a contemporary décor in tones of beige, chocolate brown and cream with dark wood furniture contrasting with the pale walls and exposed brickwork. This is an intimate restaurant with only eighteen covers and is proving to be a very popular destination in the city.
With a menu that changes according to the season, the one constant is the black truffle and you might enjoy starters of cream of porcini mushrooms with black truffles or a vegetable terrine with tomato and truffle concasse. Following on, mains of omelette with black truffle or Lyon sausage with truffles and pistachios and finishing with crème brûlée with black truffles or Quemada of Panna Cotta with truffles. Any of these fine ingredients can be purchased to take home.
