Review on L'Arôme
L'Arôme, serving modern French cuisine is situated in the Golden Triangle, a short stroll from the Champs Élysées. The restaurant opened in November 2006 and is owned and managed by Eric Martins who has a background of working at top Parisian restaurants such as Ledoyen, Lucas Carton and Hélène Darroze. The dining area was decorated by Valerie Serin who formerly worked with legendary interior designer Jacques Garcia. It's an elegant affair with a four metre high ceiling in the main area and the Murano lights illuminating the beautiful alcoves exude a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Michelin starred chef Thomas Boullault leads a young and dynamic team in the open kitchen, to produce an inventive cuisine, that changes with the seasons. Open your account with foie gras confit with rosemary-poached quince and wild rose jam or fried mushrooms and Solliès figs, walnuts and hazelnuts with blackberry vinaigrette. Sophisticated mains follow with wild sea bass roasted with it's skin on, young leeks and peeled shrimps and cape gooseberry sauce or lasagna with Brittany prawns, julienne vegetables sautéed in white balsamic, and a coconut milk and lime emulsion. As a finale indulge in a Sicilian pistachio soufflé and cherry sauce or apple tarte tatin with Granny Smith jelly and gingerbread ice cream. There is a carefully selected wine list with some options by the glass and service is professional and attentive.
