Review on Parklands Hotel, 63@Parklands
63@Parklands, formerly the Acanthus Restaurant is set in the warm and welcoming Parkland Hotel in the 'Fair City' of Perth', once the home of the Lord Provost, it has been sympathetically extended over the years. The restaurant serves accomplished modern food in an airy and spacious dining room with a contemporary décor.
The kitchen draws the best out of the local larder for its fixed menu which offers two starters, intermediate, two mains, cheese and two desserts. Typically on offer for you to enjoy could be steamed asparagus salad with Gloagburn egg or ricassee of Loch Nevis langoustine. Main courses take in Herbridean salt and herb roast Scottish salmon or handmade smoked salmon noodle and salmon egg butter. Close the show with rhubarb burnt cream or salted stem ginger ice cream donut and rhubarb shell. The wine list puts its money on lesser-known producers and mark-ups are painless.
Less formal lunches and evening meals are also available in No 1. The Bank - the hotel's casual, family-friendly bistro overlooking South Inch Park.
