Review on The Gallery, Fortnum & Mason
The Gallery, a refectory-style restaurant in the iconic Fortnum and Mason offers all day dining using fresh ingredients from their Food Hall. The stylish restaurant is judiciously placed next to the Food Hall on the ground floor, big picture windows overlook Jermyn Street and Duke Street on the other side and it is the ideal setting for meeting friends, or a quick lunch when you are out shopping.
Seasonal menus offering ingredients of the highest quality and known provenance are created by the kitchen, in addition to a Daily Dishes board. So expect Locks Drove Farm chicken liver parfait with plum chutney and toasted sourdough or Strangford Lough rock oysters with shallot vinegar before main courses of seared breast of wood pigeon with spring onion and pancetta rosti or maybe Fortnum's popular smoked fish plate with soda bread and a caper and herb dressing. When it comes to desserts, you might see chocolate and macadamia nut brownie with vanilla ice cream and fudge sauce or passion fruit creme brulee with pistachio biscotti.
The food is supported by a carefully chosen wine list with offerings by the bottle, carafe or glass.
