Review on La Font del Gall
Climb the Calvari steps and explore the narrow streets of Pollenca, the Sunday market draws the crowds and the main square is a charmer while La Font del Gall has been quietly building its reputation since 1963, now owned by a Scottish family it is known for its traditional and contemporary European cuisine, with a few Scottish influences!
Typical starters might include home cured salmon, homemade haggis fritter or steamed mussels with Serrano ham and Sherry before moving on to the likes of braised lamb stuffed with sundried tomatoes and artichokes, duck breast teriyaki or one of the many vegetarian options such as goats cheese and pine nut stuffed courgette with black olive polenta cake.
Indulgences are sold in the shape of zesty orange and lemon cheesecake or perhaps rich dark chocolate tart with a red berry sorbet while the wine list supports the local growers.
