Review on Beaucliffes Restaurant, Porth Veor Manor Hotel
Beaucliffes Restaurant is the fine dining restaurant in Porth Veor Manor Hotel, a mid 19th century Manor house that enjoys an elevated position, overlooking the commanding coastal views of Porth beach. The restaurant opens out into a conservatory style room with views over the terraced lawned gardens and the headland beyond.
The food is based around keenly sourced local ingredients for its award winning breakfasts, snack lunches from the Bar Menu, afternoon teas and its very popular a la carte dinner menu. Open your account with crab and avocado timbales, locally caught white crab meat mixed with diced avocado and a tangy mayonnaise with a hint of cayenne pepper, followed by a main course of fillet of beef, the finest cut of Cornish beef served on horseradish mash potato and accompanied with baby courgettes and a rich red wine jus or whole Megrim sole with a crab mayonnaise, baby roasted fennel and a citrus dressing. To finish you could opt for a traditional treacle tart or maybe the white chocolate and raspberry torte. There is a well-spread wine list to complement the food and a tasty cocktail menu.
