Review on The Normanby

A cosy and comfortable addition to the East Putney scene, The Normandy puts on a relaxed, easy-going face with its yellow and cream colour schemes, dark polished woodwork, comfy leather sofas and luxuriant floral displays. It copes admirably with drinkers and diners alike, with plenty of open space and carefully arranged tables towards the back of the place.

The full menu caters for the pub faithfuls with pints of prawns, Cumberland sausages and special burgers with hand-cut chips, but it also offers the likes of field mushroom bruschetta with salsa verde, pan-fried sea bass with couscous salad, and crispy pork belly with chick peas, grilled vegetables and smoked paprika aïoli. Finish off with poached pear in mulled wine with cardamom crème or warm chocolate and nut brownie.

Bargain-price, deli-style lunches do the business during the week, Sunday roasts are a big hit and weekend brunch (10.00am to 2.00pm) is an increasingly popular attraction.
