Review on Lyons Woodlands Hall Hotel
Built as a private mansion for a certain Miss H.H. Bremner in the latter years of the nineteenth century, Lyons Woodlands Hall stands in 30 acres of parkland and gardens overlooking the Vale of Clwyd.
Intricate wood carvings and fine panelling set the scene in the Conservatory restaurant, where fine dining is the order of the day. Begin with pan-fried chicken livers on cauliflower purée with Madeira sauce or goats' cheese crostini with chilli jam before moving on to pan-fried sea bass with basil cream or roast track of lamb with mushroom duxelle stuffing and redcurrant jus. On Sundays, a lunchtime carvery is served in the adjoining conservatory, which looks out onto the Vale.
