  Service

  I called at the spread some weeks ago in the evening. The food and service was excellent . On the strength of this I booked in for a party of 8 ,lunch time Friday 8 November . Well the experience was just the opposite . We were presented with the menu's ,and one of the party asked what the Pie of the day was , the waitress said there was a choice of 2 types . However we could not have the second choice until the remaining 2 pies of type 1 had been served ( this then created a felling among the party that these were yesterdays pies ) .I then asked whether I could have chips in stead of mashed potatoes ( note not in addition to ) .I was then told that this would incur a cost of £ 2.50 . At this point we decided that this was not the place we wanted to be at . We then rung up the Calf's Head pub ,and asked if they could accommodate a party of 8 in about 20 -30 minutes , yes they could . A total different experience, Surrounding A1 Service A1 Food A1 Day saved

  Lunch with my parents

  My parents and I had a delicious early starter lunch, served by very pleasant and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. If I didn't live so far away I would visit more frequently.
