Review on Ember Yard
Ember Yard was launched towards the end of 2013, once part of the successful Salt Yard Group it was sold to Urban Pubs and Bars in 2018. Spread over two floors with a basement bar and ground floor restaurant, the stylish interiors make the most of natural materials, with the custom-built charcoal fired grill taking centre stage in the open plan kitchen.
Chef Christian Parisi presents a menu that takes inspiration from Spanish and Italian influences, cooked almost entirely on the charcoal grill. The kitchen also hot and cold smokes a number of ingredients on site with the use of different types of wood including sherry barrels. Highlights from the menu include, smoked bream carpaccio with blood orange and bottarga; quince-glazed Iberico pork with celeriac purée; smoked beef burger with Idiazaba served with chorizo ketchup. To finish with something sweet there's hot chocolate ganacha with salted caramel ice cream or tiramisu and lemon ice cream.
Ember Yard has an extensive wine list that champions wines from Spain and Italy, together with signature cocktails reflecting the smoking and grilling theme such as Smoked Vintage Negroni.
