Review on Inamo
The dining experience is quite literally in your own hands at Inamo a quirky new venture on Soho's Wardour Street. Each table operates as a computer screen and illustrated menus are projected onto touch pads; you simply punch in what you want, and your request is beamed straight through to the kitchen. At the end of the meal, you can also call up your bill - and even order a taxi home!
The decor is also suitably trendy, with wacky futuristic furniture and dramatic colour schemes setting the tone in the main restaurant and basement bar. Food is taken seriously, with chefs from Cocoon, e&o and the like, delivering a wide range of challenging pan-Asian fusion dishes that take their inspiration from all corners of the Far East.
Among the 'small dishes', you might find braised baby pork ribs with pea sauce, wild boar rolls with enoki mushrooms, asparagus and moromi miso vinaigrette, or lobster salad with ginger pomegranate dressing, while 'large' offerings span everything from wagyu bavette with soy-braised yam and hijiki seaweed to marinated quail with plum wine-poached nashi pear. To finish, don't miss the fresh mango with sticky black rice and lime sorbet.
