Review on The Red Fort
The Red Fort has been a popular Indian restaurant in Soho since its establishment almost twenty years ago, and it has gone from strength to strength since its recent £1.5 million refurbishment, winning the Time Out Indian Restaurant of the Year in 2003. Under the direction of chef Mohammed Rais, regarded by many as an unsung hero of Indian cooking in London, the restaurant has managed to maintain a reputation for its quality service, fine food and superb (but expensive) wines.
Head Chef, Azadur Rahman and his team of seven chefs selected from across India are passionate about Indian cooking. He works with great care, skill and attention, relying on the ancient tradition of Mughal court cooking allowing the guests to "feast like Mughal royalty."
The restaurant, based in a Grade II listed building, has transformed from its previous incarnation as a traditional curry house to a chic and contemporary restaurant attracting a wide mix of clientele from media executives to the discerning guest enjoying the authenticity and traditional influences of the Red Fort's food.
