Review on Shikara
Shikara puts on the style in South Kensington with its plush décor, leather seats and cosmopolitan Indian food. The kitchen focuses on the rich, full-bodied cuisine of the northern regions on the Sub-continent with a varied mix of familiar curries and distinctive specialities.
Tandooris feature heavily, and the choice ranges from the usual chicken, lamb and prawns to salmon with carom seeds. You can also expect a decent array of baltis and biryanis, plus some less familiar items such as aromatic Malabar monkfish, badak chettinad (Barbary duck cooked South Indian style with spicy coconut and tomato masala) and tok dhal (spiced lentils with dried mango).
