Review on The Kinmel Arms
In a tiny village at the foothills of the beautiful Elwy Valley, the Kinmel Arms serves its local community well and is a welcome pit stop for tourists and travellers in search of good drink, fine food and a room for the night.
Inside, it's buzzy and welcoming, with lots of light and space, stools the bar, sofas by the fire and wicker chairs in the conservatory; in addition, the owners have bedecked the walls with their own original mountain photography. You can eat wherever you like from a regularly changing menu that could take in steamed mussels with lemon grass, loin of pork stuffed with herbs, apples and dates, and braised rabbit in cider – not forgetting a slate of fresh fish specials. As a finale, go for something like crème brûlée with forest fruits.
The Kinmel Arms always has a decent line up of tip-top real ales (including guest beers) and – if you prefer the grape to the grain – the extensive wine list includes ten by the glass.
