Review on The Journeyman
Mellingey is a gem of a place, hidden away between Little Petherick and St Issey. It's home to a Willow Workshop and Trout Farm, as well as the highly distinctive, laid-back Journeyman restaurant, which is housed in the converted village mill (complete with original water wheel).
'East meets the South West' in the kitchen, and the globetrotting menu straddles everything from beef Wellington to Nepalese lamb and Penang duck. Steve Lloyd is also renowned for his idiosyncratic – but perfectly pitched – renditions of Indian culinary classics: chicken achari, spinach and mushroom balti, and tandoori yuk sung (a special invention) are the kind of dishes to expect.
