A seventeenth-century Buckinghamshire mansion of some repute, Stoke Place has been transformed into a contemporary boutique hotel just 30 minutes' drive from the bustle of the capital. The house stands in 25 acres of glorious gardens, grounds and parkland designed by Capability Brown and it remains a well-protected local landmark, (the red-brick wall that surrounds the whole estate was originally put up to protect the place from 'marauders and vagabonds'.

Their new restaurant, the King and Lamb pays homage to the legendary 17th century royal chef Patrick Lamb who built the country house in 1690. The new décor is a lovely setting for fine dining with its luxurious fabrics, antique paintings and ornate mirrors adorning the walls, blending perfectly with hardwood flooring and modern fixtures.

The kitchen has created a menu inspired by Patrick Lamb's signature style which focussed on simple and traditional British cuisine, reflecting French influences and cooking styles.
