Review on Nineteen Restaurant & Bar
Streatham's Nineteen Restaurant and Bar captures the vibrance and buzz of the area in a relaxed, contemporary space with stylish exposed brickwork, dark leather seating and polished wood floors. Breakfast opens proceedings on this all day venue which moves onto lunch offerings like mussels served in white wine sauce with chips or house-made pie of the day served with creamy mash, gravy & seasonal vegetables.
Dinner is a more elaborate affair that brings on board a three course set menu or go for Ninteen's 'Signature Dishes'. You might kick off with truffle scented goose liver terrine with a mango chilly and raisin chutney, served with herb encrusted bruschettas before lamb shank served with dried tomato risotto, sautéed courgettes and gravy. To conclude, try baked cheesecake served with double chocolate ice-cream.
Long lazy brunches bring in the crowds at weekends and the restaurant does a good line in traditional Sunday lunches for the whole family (be sure to book by Thursday if you want the full deal).
