Review on Ferry Inn
Often the first port of call after getting off the ferry, this tall steep-roofed hostelry among the narrow winding streets of Stromness overlooks the bustling harbour where the ferries dock. Beyond, there are views of Scapa Flow.
The lively lounge bar has been decked out to resemble the interior of a schooner, and it's famous throughout Orkney. It buzzes from morn till night, and drinkers crowd the place for pints of real ale from the local brewery.
One menu is served throughout the pub and the daily choice of food is based mostly around local seafood, with back up from meat, vegetarian options and old-fashioned puddings. Orkney marinated beef is a speciality and the kitchen is renowned for its fish pies.
