Review on The Silver Hind
Built in 1909 and once home for Sway's district nurses, this charming place has found a new lease of life as a beguiling and immaculately turned out Village Inn with Restaurant called The Silver Hind, thanks to new owners Andy and Carol Cottingham. Located in the centre of tranquil Sway village in Hampshire's New Forest, the venue has been extended and has undergone a stylish refurbishment programme.
The frequently changing menu runs in tandem with the seasons and high quality ingredients are carefully sourced locally where possible. Witness crab cakes made with freshly caught Lymington Crab and Ringwood ale battered haddock, or salmon fillet poached with a casserole of local clams, smoked bacon and tomato. Meals are accompanied by complimentary bread baked fresh daily by the kitchen. The food is matched by a thoughtfully chosen wine list at realistic prices with several offerings by the glass. With a welcoming atmosphere and friendly service, The Silver Hind is proving to be a very popular addition to the village of Sway.
