Review on The Bride View Bar
Once a hunting lodge belonging to the Duke of Devonshire, this refurbished building stands in a most attractive spot just outside the village by the bridge over the River Bride.
Two fires blaze in the old bar during the winter, while on fine days, crowds take advantage of the picnic tables under the trees in the apple orchard. The conservatory-style 'Bistro by the Bridge' has great views plus a monthly-changing menu peppered with local produce ranging from beef and lamb to Knockanore cheeses and sorbets made from Crinnaghtaun apple juice.
Fish arrives daily from Castletownbere and Bride View is one of the few eating places in the area with its own lobster tank. A food and wine shop recently opened next door: hampers are a speciality.
