Review on Balharries Restaurant at Hilton Puckrup Hall
Balharries is the signature restaurant of Hilton Puckrup Hall, a gloriously situated venue with top-class facilities, just 2 miles from the historic town of Tewkesbury and a short drive from the M5 and M50 motorways. With unrivalled views overlooking its own eighteen hole championship golf course, the restaurant takes its name from the hotel's very first chef. The décor pays homage to its English heritage with a smattering of modern detail in its contemporary furnishings.
Starters of chicken liver brioche, crispy pancetta and red wine reduction or smoked haddock hash brown, poached duck egg and hollandaise sauce proceed main courses in the shape of parmesan and parsley-crusted salmon fillet, stuffed courgettes and vierge sauce or choose one of the excellent steaks from their grill menu, served with thick cut chips, grilled tomato and roasted mushroom and red wine jus. Round things off with a dessert of apple crème brûlée with dried apple crisp and hazelnut shortbread or chocolate brownie and toffee cheesecake, caramel and Kahlua milk shake.
