Review on Peveril of the Peak Hotel
Dating back to the 1830s and taking its name from the novel by Sir Walter Scott, this delightful hotel is in a uniquely charismatic and romantic spot, surrounded by 11 acres of grounds and with the towering Thorpe Cloud as a backdrop. It is also within easy reach of neighbouring Thorpe pastures and the famous stepping stones on the River Dove.
Formal meals are served in the pleasing Garden Restaurant, where guests can look forward to mainstream international dishes along the lines of tomato and Mozzarella saladette with basil pesto, honey-glazed duck breast with black cherry and vodka sauce, slow-braised rump steak and glazed lemon tart. Lighter food is also available in the informal Dove Bar.
