Review on Augustiner Bräu
The Augustiner Brauerei was founded in Munich in 1328. and can seat 270 people. Diners can expect a huge feast and eat to their hearts' content. Provided that you book in advance you can order meals which cost only 14.90 EUR a head (for groups of ten people or more). The Räubergelage ('Robbers' Banquet') offers grilled pork hock, ribs, skewered meat, chicken, sauerkraut, dumplings, bread, sauce, salads - and a schnapps to go with it. The beer brewed by the Augustinian monks was famous even in the Middle Ages and has now achieved a cult status in Munich. The water used for brewing the beer is pumped out of wells that are more than 230 metres deep and the water has outstanding drinking quality. The Augustiner Brauerei has its own floor maltings which are still used to produce malt of exceptional quality.
