Review on Lunesdale Arms
A few miles south of Kirkby Lonsdale on the Lancashire/Cumbria border, this eighteenth-century stone inn is surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Lune Valley. It may have started life as a licensed room attached to the old village hall, but it now functions as a self-styled bar and restaurant.
The kitchen takes care with supplies, buying locally reared meat, procuring organic vegetables and salad leaves, and baking its own bread. If you plump for the full evening works, you can look forward to dishes like chicken liver parfait with red onion jam, breast of chicken with pesto, sun-blushed tomatoes and herb cheese, followed by cappuccino crème brûlée.
