Review on La Colomba
La Colomba is a well known historic restaurant located a short stroll from Saint Mark's Square and the Venetian opera house La Fenice. The walls of the restaurant are lined with valuable famous paintings and is host to the prestigious international painting competition the Menů per la Colomba. After World War II the restaurant was visited by many impoverished artists who would pay for their meal by leaving behind a sketch or a drawing, including Picasso, Vedova, De Chirico and Morandi. On the ceiling you will see a beautiful huge abstract work by Franco Renzulli.
The restaurant offers a traditional Venetian cuisine with delicious fish-based entrées, inspired by local and international recipes. There is an excellent Italian wine list and service is polite and professional.
