Tapas at English's of Whitstable, formerly known as Williams & Browns Tapas was taken over by Louise English and her team in August 2013. A popular neighbourhood restaurant since 2004, it is located on Harbour Street, minutes from the beach in Whitstable. Noted for its relaxed and intimate feel, the restaurant has simple wooden tables and chairs with large picture windows looking out onto the street.
The kitchen under the leadership of Head Chef Andy Cozens have created a tempting menu of authentic traditional and modern Spanish tapas dishes using carefully sourced local ingredients. Typical offerings on the carte include Jamon Serrano, thinly sliced air cured mountain ham, or from the sea there's mussels cooked with onion, garlic, thyme and white Rioja. There are also blackboard specials listing the fish and dish of the day, as well as desserts.
There's a carefully complied wine list to complement the menu together with warm attentive service.
