The Gasthof Kreuz is a cosy country inn which has been run by the same family for twelve generations. Situated in Wohlen, just outside Bern it offers guests a journey through time. Its seven rooms comprise restaurants, vaulted cellars and event rooms which are steeped in history. The restaurant serves suitable, traditional meals, such as the Berner Platte and historical explanations are provided on the menu. The wine cellar dates back to 1841 and is well stocked with numerous international wines and rare vintages, together with antique relics from the war. The historic Waldfondue (forest fondue) – a cheese fondue which is eaten outside and from an army bowl using 80 cm long forks – gives diners an authentic flavour of the past. There is also a menu that features international, low calorie and vegetarian dishes. The Gasthof Kreuz also hosts popular events such as Wine & Dine.
