Review on The Froize Inn
Dating back to 1490, the Froize Inn (a few miles from Woodbridge) has seen many changes over the centuries, and re-opened in 1981 after many years as a private residence. These days it plies its trade as a country restaurant rather than a pub.
Chef/landlord David Grimwood cooks a range of imaginative food with an Anglo-French slant. Fish is something of a speciality on the ambitious evening menu: starters of fresh local crab or English snails in parsley and garlic butter could precede roast loin of spring lamb with redcurrants, baked salmon on spinach or wing of skate with lemon and cashews. Buffet-style carvery lunches are the daytime offering, and there is Adnams ale on handpump. Good selection of wines by the glass.
