Review on Restaurant zum Grünen Glas
The Zum Grünen Glas is a cosmopolitan restaurant, bistro and elegant guild house situated in Zurich's old town, not far from the university, theatre and art gallery. It has been a restaurant since 1845 and has a number of different rooms including a magnificent banqueting hall that can seat 170 diners. There is also a romantic garden where you can dine in the summer months.
There is an excellent a la carte menu that offers fresh seasonal Mediterranean cuisine, as well as traditional dishes from central Europe. Look for veal "Zurich Style" served with rosti or herb-crusted monkfish, on a bed of creamy Savoy cabbage, accompanied by shallots cooked in red wine and a spinach roulade, finishing with a dessert of white chocolate and almond tiramisu. There is a fine wine list with local specialities alongside other European offerings.
