The Basics of our Search Engine

To query our search index, just type in a few descriptive words and hit the 'enter' key (or click on the Search button) for a list of relevant web pages. Since we only return web pages that contain all the words in your query, refining or narrowing your search is as simple as adding more words to the search terms you have already entered. Your new query will return a smaller subset of the pages we found for your original "too-broad" query.

Capitalization

Searches are NOT case sensitive. All letters, regardless of how you type them, will be understood as lower case. For example, searches for "french restaurants", "French Restaurants ", and "fReNch rEstAurAnTs " will all return the same results.

Word Order

Searches are not dependent upon word order. For example, searches for "french restaurants" and "Restaurants French" will return the same results.

Results order

Matches to a particular search query are displayed in order of relevance to the search criteria or "keywords" entered as determined by our search algorithms. Please let us know if you find something that is out of place in the results.

Search Tips
  • When you type multiple words in the search box, we look for Web pages that contain all of the words.
  • The words you enter in the search box will have the most direct impact on the results you receive. For that reason, we suggest that you use the most direct words you can.
  • Please note that we only index the restaurant information pages.
