Built in 1999 from the ruins of an eighteenth-century grain mill, the Atlantic Coast Hotel has a lovely outlook on Westport Harbour, by the shores of Clew Bay. The stunning Blue Wave restaurant occupies the fourth floor of the hotel, under the shadow of Croagh Patrick, and it naturally has some of the best views.
Menus change daily as the kitchen deploys international flavours aplenty for dishes like confit of duck with sautéed baby potatoes, chorizo and juniper jus, baked darne of salmon with buttered spinach and cucumber sambal, and desserts such as warm chocolate torte with honeycomb ice cream and Cointreau orange sauce.
Alternatively, you can eat and drink in the casual surroundings of the Fishworks Café Bar overlooking the quay. Food is available each day from 11.00am – 10.00pm, and there's live music Tuesday - Sunday.
