A stylish makeover has transformed the original waterfront brasserie into a contemporary Italian restaurant called Stresa, but the curving glass wall and floor-to-ceiling windows still provide stunning views over Royal Victoria Dock from this informal venue attached to the Ramada Hotel London Docklands. There's also a fine-weather terrace for al fresco meals.
The kitchen woks to a crowd-pleasing menu of pizzas and pasta dishes (anything from spaghetti bolognese to orecchiette with lamb ragł and fresh mint) bolstered by antipasti such as grilled aubergines with fresh Pecorino and main courses of osso buco, grilled tuna steak with rocket salad, and breast of duck with honey and pomegranate sauce. Finish with classic tiramisu or pannacotta with poached pears.
