Review of Regency Restaurant, Brighton and Hove

There are great seafront views to be enjoyed from the legendary Regency restaurant, which has been a stalwart of the Brighton scene since the 1930s. Fish is the order of the day, and what you order is exactly what you get: there are no fancy frills, just big honest flavours, great value and mighty portions. And it's immense fun!

Staples like cod and chips or grilled whole plaice are fixtures on the menu, but - depending on the catch, the weather and the season - you might also be tempted by grilled sardines, scallops in garlic butter, Dover sole, halibut and lobster salad, plus a few more elaborate specials including grilled salmon in lemon and dill sauce.

Roasts, pasta dishes and cold buffets are also part of the package; there are specials for children and vegetarians, plus old-school desserts such as banana split and chocolate gâteau.
