Set in its own grounds on the outskirts of the city, with easy access from the A1, this modern hotel overlooking Gosforth Park is also handy for the racecourse and the airport.
Formal meals are served in the recently refurbished Plate Restaurant. Expect modern Anglo-French dishes along the lines of ham hock terrine with apricot chutney, and cannon of beef with leek and potato rösti and morel jus followed by white chocolate and Cointreau truffle. Simpler grills and daily roasts are also available.
