Mobile Food Guide Review of The Hawarden Brasserie

Noted for its relaxed, intimate feel, this popular neighbourhood brasserie stands in a pretty village within easy reach of Chester. Cool cream interiors set the mood, candlelight adds its glow in the evening and there's a pretty outdoor patio for aperitifs in summer.

Two-course lunches are an affordable deal, and the full menu promises modern British cuisine with some Mediterranean and exotic flourishes. A tian of dressed crab with filo pastry, guacamole and coriander crème fraîche could open the show alongside baked goats' cheese tortillas with red pepper marmalade. Rump of lamb niçoise on roasted Mediterranean vegetables is typical of the meat main courses or you might fancy some fish – seared salmon on lobster and prawn linguine, for example. Round things off with Baileys chocolate mousse with raspberry compote or summer pudding with vanilla cream.

The Hawarden Brasserie is related to Brasserie 10-16 in Chester.
