Thai Elephant - Leamington Spa

For more than 20 years, this family-run Thai restaurant has been doing a great job in Royal Leamington Spa. Gracious staff in traditional costume provide serene, courteous service and the interior is a riot of fantastic decorations, luxuriant tropical plants and splendid hand-carved teak furniture.

Thai river prawns are one of the kitchen's specialities: try them cooked in a hot and spicy broth with lemon grass, chilli and herbs or char-grilled and served with a special seafood dipping sauce. The 100-dish menu works its way through all aspects of the cuisine from soups to stir-fries, but it's worth exploring some of the more unusual items such as salmon stir-fried in 'shu shi' curry sauce with coconut cream and Thai herbs. Vegetarians are offered ample choice and at lunchtime there are good-value mini-banquets.
