You will find Nick Price's much-loved warehouse conversion among the narrow cobbled streets of Belfast's cathedral quarter. Once a bonded whiskey depot for Bushmills Distillery, it formerly dispensed flagons of the hard stuff to a discerning local clientele. Since 1989, however, it has been trading in modern food and global wines.
Below stairs is the wine bar, where you can lunch affordably from a daily menu of upbeat sandwiches, salads (bang-bang chicken with crunchy vegetables, coconut and lime dressing) and hot dishes like grilled smoked haddock on mash with warm leek vinaigrette.
The kitchen feeds off native supplies for a fleshed-out restaurant menu that could include grilled breast of local chicken on porcini risotto with pesto, spiced braised leg of lamb, fillet of salmon with dill hollandaise and pickled cucumber, plus all manner of 'puddings, desserts and sweets' ranging from rhubarb cornmeal cake to dark chocolate and nut terrine with white chocolate sauce.
